A Trilogy of Love - Bear Love
The book is a romance between Jacob (a Canadian bear from Vancouver, Canada) and Ivan (a Filipino chaser from Manila, Philippines). The book is a trilogy (3 books in the series) and follows Jacob and Ivan as they make their way across the Pacific to find love. The book takes place in both Manila and in Vancouver (two cities that I know and love).
I hadn’t set out to write a romance novel, but as I got to know the characters, they convinced me that love can reach across divides. That love is not about rules or expectations, but about helping each other to be whatever our best self is that day. Even those days where our best self is nearly invisible and filled with pain or even hate. For none of us is truly good or bad or even mediocre--we are all of that. As such, we can act with compassion and love, because what we wish for ourselves we can also wish for others. For that is truly love.
