Jacob & Ivan: Bearing Our Love Across the Pacific is a gay romance about desire, distance, vulnerability, and what happens when two men on opposite sides of the world begin to imagine a life together.

Jacob is a Canadian bear with a broad chest, thick arms, a soft belly, and no idea just how irresistible he is. Ivan is a younger Filipino man who knows exactly what he likes, and Jacob is very much his type.

What begins as an online connection slowly becomes something deeper: flirtation, longing, intimacy, temptation, and the terrifying possibility that this might actually be love.

Their story moves between Vancouver and the Philippines, exploring not only the chemistry between them, but also the cultures, families, insecurities, expectations, and thousands of kilometres standing in their way.

At the centre of the story is something I wanted to see more often in gay romance: the big guy as the heartthrob. Jacob is not desirable in spite of his body. His big furry chest, thick arms, round belly, warmth, and vulnerability are all part of what makes him impossible to resist.

This is a love story about being seen, being wanted, and discovering that sometimes the person you thought was out of your league has been fantasizing about you all along.
